In January 1997 I started to create a design for my personal tape collection. It included a logo like a normal record company, a series of over 40 tapes and two boxes containing them. The claim ‘Wherever you are, there’s No Escape From Sound’ came into my mind when I thought about the place I wanted to live for a while: Iceland! The whole idea with these boxes full of tapes was, that I wanted to have as much of my favourite music with me there. Sadly, I only stayed at the Hotel Djupavik for over two months.

After that, I continued designing layouts for CD-R’s, greetings cards and so on until 2004. As my friends also liked their ‘Present Compilation’ with the design, I nearly made NEFS it into a ‘real’ record label. Unfortunately, all the hassel with the copyrights and other rights stopped the project. But still I like the style and the idea of it, so after 14 years I finally share it with you folks. I hope you enjoy it!
